Regional Activities

Regional workshops and activities are designed to strengthen local networks and to provide an opportunity for further learning, while building ongoing relationships with colleagues from other sites also engaged in implementing Place-Based Learning. They include such events as:

  • Site Tours: Structured visits to exemplary Adopt-A-Watershed sites that showcase the implementation of Place-Based Learning.

  • Outdoor Learning: such as rafting trips down a local river, a walk with a local artist to learn nature illustration, or a nature journaling adventure on a trip to the beach.

  • Workshops: serving the interests of regional participants focused on specific content areas or practices such as literacy integration, assessment, student environmental data sharing, environmental monitoring or restoration techniques, or small school enterprise development.
