On-Site Workshops


We offer 1, 2 and 3 day workshops, as well as individualized consulting days in a variety of critical need areas. Participants custom tailor a combination of services to fit their specific needs. Services include but are not limited to:

  • Initial Planning and Organization: (Step 1)
    This series of short facilitated meetings and introductory presentations are designed to organize and prepare you to effectively plan your program, including uniting key cooperators, identifying and organizing the key players, creating and solidifying a Leadership Team, formalizing partnerships, and identifying goalsand desired outcomes.
     
  • Inventorying Current Resources and Priorities: (Step 2)
    A 3 hour workshop and pre-and post-workshop resources are provided, which are designed to guide youthrough the steps required to identify available resources, explore opportunities and limiting factors, survey community priorities, and become familiar with current programs. AAW willconsolidate this information into a report for use during strategic planning.
     
  • Community Vision-to-Action Forum: (Step 3)
    With Adopt-A-Watershed providing facilitation, the Leadership Team coordinates a community Vision-to-Action Forum, at which the community has an opportunity to delineate a shared vision, action plans, and develop working groups.
     
  • Strategic Planning: (Step 3)
    This 2-day planning intensive (plus some pre-meeting work) is designed to lead you through an efficient process resulting in astrategic plan that will guide the development and implementation of your program.
     
  • Place-Based Learning Workshop: (Step 4)
    Half-day to two-day workshops designed to deepen your knowledge and understanding of the components of a Place-Based Learning program, while providing facilitated curriculum planning time.
     
  • Organizational Development Workshop: (Step 4)
    Either a half-day or full-day workshop designed to help you create an organizational structurethat will effectively support your program.
     
  • Cultural Competency Workshop: (Step 4)
    This one-day intensive workshop is designed for you to explore and deepen your understanding of cultural differences in our world and develop strategies to get your organization on a path towards cultural competency.
     
  • Effective Teams Workshop: (Step 4)
    This one-day workshop will help you understand the stages of team development and will strengthen the effectiveness of your Leadership Team.
     
  • Literacy Program Development: (Step 4)
    The teaching of reading and writing is integrated throughout the program. This half-day to two-day workshop is designed to deepen your knowledge and understanding of how to integrate literacy into all Place-Based Learning practices, while providing facilitated curriculum planning time.
     
  • Resource Development: (Step 4)
    One-day workshop in which participants create a comprehensive resource and fund development plan for their educational system and specific programs.
     
  • Evaluation and Improvement: (Step 5)
    A series of facilitated workshops with an evaluation committee identified by the Leadership Team to develop the objectives, plan, and create instruments for the evaluation process. Tools and resources forevaluation including model instruments, plans, and objectives are provided.
